ARTIST STATEMENT

 

I scrutinize humanity and expound my comprehensions in the way of art.

 

The life experiences and living situation of my own are the resources for my art pracitce, and a major part of my context. By exploring my sense and sensibility toward different experiences, I discover aspects of human heart which are in dramatic coexistence with each other: like vulnerability and kindness; prejudice and persistence; compromise and perseverance; tears and love.

 

My main practices in this period are self-portraits and writings. In my point of view, only when we know one's life experiences and the understanding of life, will we find the charm of that person, for they are the true merits behind the face. For that reason, I've kept on writing about my life experiences and the cognition I hold upon while doing the self-portraits. They are complete only when the self-portraits and the writing are presented  together.

 

Works in other materials, of other subjects are occasionally brought into practice, all in the classification of visual arts. Whatever the form or subject is, words are adopted as a spiritual element, delivering messages that can hardly be comprehended in visual forms, enabling my audiences to see those invisible.

 

An artist's dedication shall include an indispensable practice of finding opportunities to present the works to the public. In the rest of my time, besides artwork producing, I would be on the way of seeking opportunities for exhibiting my works to the public - all on my own from scratch.
